Cardiac Surgery
Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care offers patients minimally invasive treatment options that require smaller incisions and avoid the need to cut down the center of the chest and divide the sternum. This surgical procedure is associated with less postoperative pain, a quicker recovery, and better patient outcomes.
All heart surgery is delicate and requires years of study and training. We regularly perform complex and challenging surgical procedures, including:
Coronary Bypass Surgery
Patients with plaque buildup in the walls of the arteries of the heart (also known as coronary artery disease) may require surgery to bypass the clogged vessels. This helps the heart to receive the oxygen it needs to fully function as a muscle. This procedure requires admission to the hospital for a multiple-night stay.
Thoracic and Aortic Surgeries
Patients with aortic or thoracic aneurysms have weakened walls within the aorta requiring surgical repair. This procedure requires admission to the hospital for a multiple-night stay.
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
This nonsurgical procedure delivers an artificial valve through a catheter placed in the groin. It is used for patients with significant aortic valve disease who are at too high risk for traditional open-heart surgery.
Valve Repair and Replacement (Atrial, Mitral, Tricuspid)
Patients with heart valve disease may require a surgical procedure to repair or replace one of the three heart valves (atrial, mitral, and tricuspid). This procedure requires admission to the hospital for a multiple-night stay.
