Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care now offer a minimally invasive renal denervation (RDN) option designed to assist certain patients with high blood pressure.
The Symplicity™ blood pressure procedure received FDA approval in November 2023. It is clinically proven to help patients with high blood pressure when lifestyle changes and hypertension medications fail to control it effectively.
The procedure, primarily performed on an outpatient basis, delivers radiofrequency energy to nerves near the kidneys that can become overactive and contribute to high blood pressure. Administered through a catheter inserted into the artery and requiring only mild sedation, it calms the excessive nerve activity. It can also decrease a patient’s need for hypertension medication.
This option can give patients a blood pressure reduction benefit that is ‘always on’ and doesn’t require a permanent implant.
The Simplicity™ blood pressure procedure helps patients regain control over their condition and find peace of mind.
“We are looking forward to the future of hypertension care and are proud to be offering innovative solutions to our patients.”
Hypertension affects approximately 50% of U.S. adults and is the leading cause of death. Among those who are aware of their hypertension, roughly 80% do not have it under control.
